1. What is the DEJ?

The DEJ is the Dermal-Epidermal Junction. It is the basement membrane where the dermis and epidermis meet that helps support the skin’s structure. As we age, key proteins break down in this area increasing the visible signs of aging.

During youth, this junction is very “wavy”. With age, this junction flattens and skin becomes more slackened. It’s a key area for skin cell communication and cohesion. Research has shown that addressing the health of the DEJ greatly affects the outward appearance of the skin.

2. What are the key ingredients that target the DEJ in this product?

Acetyl Tetrapeptide-2 helps increase the synthesis of elastin, Collagen IV and Integrin in the DEJ and promotes correct assembly of elastin fibers. Tetrahexyldecyl(THD) Ascorbate also helps to enhance the DEJ to brighten skin. These ingredients together help diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

3. How does this product help the skin’s Microbiome?

Alpha-Glucan Oligosaccharide, a prebiotic, selectively supports the growth of healthy organisms which helps balance and support diversity on the skin’s Microbiome to promote overall skin health. It also stimulates antimicrobial peptide production enhancing skin’s natural defenses.
